Darwin versus Creationism

Creationism:

God moulded a man out of mud then breathed air in his lung and gave him life. Then God took a rib out of mud man and created the mud man’s rib woman. Later because she bit the forbidden fruit they were expeled from paradise and as punishment god decided that the act of giving birth would be painful from that day. Later they had two sons but one killed the other and was banished. They then had other children who then engendered the entire human race. But which race? The Jews say that they are the one truepeople of god. Christians say that they are the true people of god. Islamists say that they are the one true people of god. Mormons say that they are the one true people of god.

The study of genetics has led to the following interesting discovery: every sexually reproductive creatures start out female. Because the X chromosome (which is made of between 900 to 1400 genes, about 155 millions base pairs) is always active even in males. The Y chromosome (which is made of between 70 and 200 gene, about 58 million base pairs) on the other hand mostly pirates, silences and modifies the behavior of parts of the X chromosome.

In ants, bees and many other insects, reproduction is nothing more than a cloning process. The queen creates exact clones of herself and nothing else. If left that way all the larvae would hatch into queens. But the males then sneak in and rape the eggs, injecting their genetic material inside the eggs and in the process transforming the larvae into themselves. There doesn’t exist a single specie on our planet where it’s the male that clones itself.

The males of almost every species that exist on our planet are aggressive and seek dominance over others. They also all seek to reproduce themselves with as many females as possible; while preventing all others from reproducing themselves. In most species reproduction is very close to what we would consider as rape. If you look at this from a purely scientific point of view, the Y chromosome would appear to be nothing more than an infertile (but very aggressive) virus that requires a host cell to reproduce itself.

So if god created men first and then created a woman from one of his rib; how come it’s the X chromosome that generates life? How come it’s the X chromosome that is active first? How come the Y chromosome is unable to generate life on its own? How come the Y chromosome does nothing else than modify, pirate and silence certain parts of the X chromosome.

On top of that we are supposed to believe that had Eve not bitten the apple, giving birth would be like passing Jell-O, “floush! I can almost ear every mother in the world screaming “Why don’t you try passing a water melon through your ass hole and then tell me it hurts because god is angry at you! And finally, as if this was not enough, the human race was born out of incest! After all there was Adam; there was Eve and their children, no one else. So who had sex with whom?

So only one conclusion remains:

Not a single part of the mud man, mud man’s rib woman theory passes the test of reality and, therefor, of intelligence.
Nop! No firm and solid ground here!

Darwinism:

From a biological point of view: Life is nothing more than an agglomeration of cells working in perfect symbiosis (no one cell is more important than any other).
From a thermodynamic point of view: A cell is nothing more than a device that manipulates energy through chemical processes.
From a scientific point of view: A chemical process is nothing more than the interactions between the electrons, protons and neutrons of an atom with those of another.

But is that all there is to life?

The theory of evolution States that species emerges from half hazard genetic mutations. Then a process called natural selection weeds out the results. Does this mean that “life is nothing more than the result of an endless series of flukes in an endless series of interactions of sub-atomic particles in an endless succession of agglomerations of groups of sub-atomic particles?” Almost sarcastic wouldn’t you say? But there is an underlying truth here that goes far beyond the concepts of creationism and Darwinism:
The self organizing nature of chaos!

Physicists say that “we are lucky that the values of the constants that, they use in their
equations to, define(s) the universe are as they are! Otherwise, if a single one of them was different in the slightest way, the universe would be sterile.

Once i eared a rabbi, trying to discredit evolution, say “half an eye is not an eye!”

Religions say that everything is predefined, pre-decided, pre-designed. They say that there is nothing left to chance. That every thing is the way it is by the will of god. Every thing that is, that was, that will be, every thing that happens, that has happened, that will happen is by the express will of god.

Science says that everything is due to series of random events and coincidences, the universe, galaxies, solar systems, planets, life, everything.

Could it be that reality stands somewhere in the middle?

Could there be something beyond chaos?

What is necessary for creatures such as us to exist? What are we exactly? What is life? Does it have a meaning? Questions, questions, questions, there are so many of them. Remember the last time you had one? Or, better yet, “do you remember a moment in your life when you had absolutely no questions?” Curiosity is built into our brains. You know that little euphoric moment you have after finally understanding or figuring something out. Well that’s your brain rewarding you for it through the release of endorphins and dopamine.

From the moment the basic structures of our brain emerges to the moment we leave this world, the one thing we do constantly, and continually, is ask questions! The quest for knowledge, the thirst for the truth, the desire to explain things, these traits are innate in all of us. As if through us the universe sought to express and understand itself.

So that creatures such as us may emerge; the basic building blocks of life (the cells) must exist. A cell is an envelope within which electrochemically driven biological events occur like clockwork. But these events can actually occur on their own given the right conditions. Conditions that were present in the early, barely formed, earth.

For these electrochemically driven biological processes to occur and evolve to a primitive cell, all that is necessary is a world where molecules can form and interact. At its beginning the excess heat of our planet created a continuous convection motion that allowed molecules to form and combine easily. It's through these interactions that simple chemical reactions evolved in more and more complex structures with more and more complex interactions. From complex interactions to biological reactions; from complex structures to basic cell structure.

The birth of a planet is quite a simple thing actually. But first know that matter, all matter that serves as building blocks in our universe, is made of atoms. They in turn are made of electrons and protons that both have magnetic field and mass or gravitational field, and neutrons (though electromagnetically neutral they still have mass). In other words, matter is extremely interactive and this creates strong opportunities for clumping up.

Galaxies are made of dust. Mostly atoms and some molecules, but a lot of it is ionized (which is a particles with a missing or extra electrons, for example an hydrogen atom is made of 1 electron and 1 proton so if you separate them you obtain one negative ion (the electron) and one positive ion (the proton)). Molecules are made of ionized and non-ionized atoms who share some electrons. Molecules made from ionized particles tend to retain polarities within their atomic structures which creates magnetic fields within the molecules.

Electromagnetism and gravity have in common the fact that they are additive. The greater the quantity of electromagnetic particles in a given volume, the greater the electromagnetic field they generate. The greater the quantity of matter contained within a volume, the greater the gravitational field they generate. But electromagnetism is a much more powerful force than gravity, if the sun was a magnet and the planets were made of iron they would all have crashed into the sun billions of years ago.

So through electromagnetism ionized atomic size pieces of matter begin clumping up and, as their mass increases, gravity slowly starts to accelerate the process by pulling on magnetically neutral (or non-ionized) particles and lumps of matter. Through hundreds of millions to billions of years this process creates a gas cloud that can span up to many light years in diameters.

Eventually, according to the diameter and rotational speed of the cloud, a specific quantity of mass will collapse it and, according to these 3 values (diameter, rotation speed and mass), a sun of a specific mass and diameter will be form at the center, by the collapsing matter that makes up the cloud. And, in a similar process (powered by the intense and frequent massive coronal mass ejection event that all young stars go through), the left over matter can generates a planetary system.

We can see how these multiple accreating and collapsing processes will see the hydrogen and oxygen atoms slam into one another and generate water molecules in great quantity. And because water molecules are so eager to share electrons with one another, they easily clump up into giant dirty snow ball. Once planetoids have turned into planet and have begun to slowly cool down, they can begin accumulating water as these giant dirty snow ball asteroids slams into them.

Just like water molecules form freely in the matter precipitating process created by a collapsing gas cloud, long molecular chains, that could not have form on a scorching brand new planet, are formed in the same process. Carbonate, peptides, amino acids, what scientist refer to as the building blocks of life, form in the same process and end up mixed in with the waters of these giant dirty snow balls.

Slowly the surface of the planet finds itself covered with this mixture of water, long molecule chains and other various compounds, molecules and atoms. The heat of this new planet then generates the convection required for these various elements to start mingling naturally. This in turn will generate the basic chemical processes that will lead to life.

As i said the birth of a planet is quite a simple thing, though it may take billions of years to occur. But this process will only lead to sentient life if the planet is in a location favourable to that life. Location that depends on many factors that are very hard to ascertain since the only example of sentient life we possess is us.

Finally the only actual requirement for matter to come into existence is an electromagnetically active quantum field. You know that chaotic foam like structure that physicist describes when they talk of the universe. What they are describing are actually magnetic fluctuations in the quantum field at the plank scale. (10^-33meters = 1 plank length). It takes 1 plank length of time (10^-45s) for the magnetic values of a region of space equal to 1 plank cube (10^-33m*10^-33m*10^-33m, or 10^-99(m3)) to fluctuate into a new state. It’s the additive nature of magnetism that renders the overall values of this quantum field neutral, as described by relativity.

Our universe IS an electromagnetically active quantum field!

And chaos rules in it!

To explain the process through which this quantum field generates matter would be equal to a lesson in quantum physic which would be far beyond the scope of this book. Suffice it to say that scientific experiments have already shown that when you create a vacuum (remove all the molecules and atoms and sub-atomic particles within a volume of space) and wait long enough matter will eventually appear spontaneously in that space (of course this was done within a container!).

The very nature of our universe, the electromagnetically active quantum field that is the fabric of space, chaos, organizes itself into discrete structures we call “matter”. Then through their electromagnetic and gravitational fields the chaotic behavior of matter organizes itself into more complex structures like: atoms, molecules, solar systems and galaxies.

Eventually, within these chaotic processes, a planet will be born where atoms and molecules have the opportunity to organize themselves, through chaotic interactions, into more complex compounds such as our earthly RNA. And since these compounds interact very strongly together they eventually lead to the creations of cells, cellular processes and eventually compounds such as our earthly DNA.

A conclusion seem to impose itself here.

Our universe with its allegedly lucky set of Constants, with their discrete values, unavoidably leads to life!
