Introduction.
We all know that our human history has rarely been written by actual historians conscious of safeguarding the truth for posterity. For thousands of years it was the priest of the occupying powers who wrote down the events for posterity. But, unlike historians, priests and dictators have a vested interest on the future perceptions of who played what part in the events of their life time.
The result is a biased version of history which is taught as the truth. Or, even worst, as absolute truth of GOD to people who don’t realize that they are being indoctrinated in a lie that was created to proclaim the glory of an empire and ensure its dominance. By being kept in ignorance through false concepts of faiths and fears; we were cheated out of the truth of our past by people whose intentions were shady at best.
Those who do not learn from their past are doom to repeat it.
If you don’t know where you are coming from how can you know where you are going?
Imagine a scientist trying to define the trajectory of a particle using falsified data on the origin and speed of that particle!
What if i told you: Once a man fought with an angel and won?
What if i told you: If you want the rain, go in a field and burn some animal with some herbs. As the smoke will rise to god he will be pleased and he will send the rain?
What if i told you: God created H1N1 to punish humanity?
What if i told you: Hurricans are sent by god to punish the sinners?
You would most likely explain the rain through the water cycle, hurricanes through air motion over the oceans, sickness through the growth, evolution and spread of viruses. As far as a human being, “a mere mortal”, defeating an “angel of god”? Well!!!???
But we possess something our ancestor didn’t have; true knowledge based on empirical data and experimentation. They had myths! Things that are easy for us to explain like; clouds, rain, thunder, lightning, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, sickness etc… were, to our ancestor, mysterious, magical and the source of great mythology.
Those who perversely sought power and domination over others quickly learned to use our myths, and the fears they instigated, to impose their will on us. And now we are left with books that claim to absolute historical truths that are, at best, tainted and biased half truth. It’s the content of those books that was used as foundation for our civilizations and taught as history.
Once i heard someone say “society is a failure!” But, if you are given plans to build a house and then choose to build that house on mud, is the house to be blamed for crumbling? We made, modified, manipulated, used and abused the rules upon which we erected our civilizations. We do it every time it suits our personal needs and cry out to injustice every time someone else does it. No! Society, civilization, is not a failure. It is us who failed society.
Humanity, as a whole, is a failure!
An experiment gone awfully wrong!
The proof is every where around us. Every day thousands of women and children are beaten, raped and killed. Children are turned into deadly weapons or die by the thousands every day due to hunger, thirst and easily curable diseases. Pain, misery and suffering are on every street of every city of every nation.
Rich are hording more and more resources while poor’s are getting poorer. Ideologies are at war dreaming of annihilating each others. Racial tensions, homophobia, bigotry, denials of rights. Pollution is making our air murky and hard to breathe. And global warming is menacing the entire ecosystem of our fragile planet. It would seem that hatred, war and destruction now rule the earth.
That’s why now more than ever we must understand our past so we can make sense of our present and create the road to a viable future, OUR FUTURE.
But the truth is not so easy to suppress. History, time, leaves its mark. Traces of the truth exist hidden under millennia’s of lies, like pieces of a puzzle scattered through the world. Enters science and the search for the truth without bias.
Now through the knowledge gathered by; archaeologist, biologist, palaeontologist, historians, etc. (in other words scientist of all fields), we can draw a clearer picture of our past and dismiss the myths that have led us here.
Lament For Three Whores!
Part I:
I gave you my hands to erect your world, but you tried to separate them.
So i rose my left to the heavens, to remove its knowledge from your world.
Then, to try and keep you within my heart, i placed my right on to the world.
So guard yourselves from betraying it, lest i hold you in contempt, for i guard it with great jealousy.
Guard yourselves from seditions, for i could not bear the pain of you tearing yourself away from it.
Guard yourselves from collusions and perversions, for i could not bear the pain, you’ll cause to those who choose to dwell in it.
But if you were to choose to secede from me; i shall remove my right from your world and turn a deaf ear to your cries.
Then my left hand will be called Karma, for it and it alone can yield the sword called Destiny.
And as Karma will crash on to your world; Destiny will uproot you to the last.
Best you keep my heart and be preserved in it, for it gives freely from life to faith.
Lest you face my sword and be destroyed by it, for it takes freely from life to faith.
And if a day sees you returning to my right, then that day will see me return to you my left.
For the hand that yields Karma and Destiny, is nothing but the hand that yields the tools of Truth and Knowledge.
Texts are written to affect the mind and imagination of those who will read them. I know it's one of those obvious statements that we all understand. But for some reason we refuse to acknowledge that this is also true of the religious writings. Life can seems very grim at times. We are not in control of the elements and sometimes they seem to league against us. We often wish for revenge against those who would abuse us or commit injustices against us, or our loved ones. The world and the universe that surrounds our existences are filled with mysteries that our curious minds naturally seek to elucidate. And sometimes things just feel eerie and ominous.
These are the main ingredients of any religion. Relegating the ominous, the uncontrollable and the vengeance, against those who do wrong, to some all knowing, all powerful deity. Give that deity a wide range of human emotions, desires, wants, needs, etc.... Then use the elements and events of nature and life themselves to enforce the myth and demand submission to your will. Offer them the deity’s promise of rewards to the faithful. And finally threaten with violence those who refuse to submit to you (first from the deity itself, for disobeying its will, and then, once enough have submitted to you, from the entire tribe).
Et voila! Ignorance and fears will take care of the rest.
The above text is a perfect example of this. But, unlike us, our ancestors had no way, no knowledge, to defend themselves from these kinds of intellectual, emotional, spiritual (and even physical) manipulations and abuses. Does the fact that men, who lived thousands of years ago, in a land slowly turning into a desert where the rain was getting scarce, claims that some deity sent the rain after the burning of a bunch of animals and herbs mean that it's true?
There is something illogical and counter productive, about reading some god theory without putting it to the test of the acquired knowledge and intelligence of (at lease) your own mind. Just like there is something very wrong with the act of imposing, not to say indoctrinating (though that's exactly what it is!), these ill conceived god theories to children while denying them the right to question them (not to say instigating an absolute fear of questioning them, though, again, that's exactly what parents do to their children).
It is required for one to be able to walk that there be a firm and solid ground upon which to put ones feet. Just like it is required for a tree to grow up straight that there be nothing in its way that may force it to bend. Just like it is required for any concoction to preserve its nature that it be stirred at frequent intervals.
So is it required for knowledge to grow that it too must stand on firm and solid ground. So is it required for civilization to grow that there be nothing that forces it to bend in one direction or another. So is it required for a species to evolve that it be stirred up once in a while. The human race, as a species, has now reached an astonishing level of divisions. So much so that it has now become impossible to look in any direction of the human realm without seeing divisions upon divisions. Politics, ideologies, philosophies, genders, sexualities, beliefs, races, etc...
And the common factors found at the source of all these divisions are:
Ignorance and the religions that impose that ignorance on their followers.
